Travelling to Amsterdam

The closest airport to Amsterdam is Schiphol Airport. The fastest way to get to the city centre from Schiphol is to take the train to Amsterdam Centraal. Getting around Amsterdam

For information on public transport in Amsterdam visit the GVB website or use this door-to-door travel planner. OV-chip cards are available to buy at Amsterdam Centraal, allowing you to check in and out on trams, buses and metros. You can also purchase a disposable card for one hour (€3,20), for a single day (€8), or for multiple days (3 days for €19).

The most efficient way to get around Amsterdam is by bike, like the locals. Information about bike rental companies can be found here. Walking distances to the festival’s venues vary. From Amsterdam Centraal, it’s a ten-minute walk to reach De Brakke Grond. Reaching Paradiso, Stedelijk Museum and OT301 takes between half an hour and 45 minutes by foot.

Accommodation

Amsterdam offers many hotels and hostels located in and around the city centre. You could also rent an apartment, or spend a night on a houseboat or in a canal house. If you are travelling to Amsterdam on a shoestring, your cheapest option may be to couch surf during your stay.
